When we notice the stories of others, our own stories become more clear to us. These stories capture what others have experienced from Madd-Steiny's teambuilding and performance imporvement products. Story is a thread that ties us all together. Here are some Values stories. What will your story be?
Trust among the team
At one of the nation's largest mortgage lenders, The Values Discovery Process served a team of credit policy leaders to renew their shared values. During a 1.5 hour meeting, the Values Discovery Process guided discussion about their strategic goals and how they could better serve clients. The insights they gained about each other enhanced the trust among the team. They plan to take the experience to their direct reports and will champion the process with other departments.
Organizational shared values
The Values Discovery Process aided a healthcare organization in identifying the shared values that encompass the delivery of exceptional care. Numerous employees engaged in the discovery process during a series of focus groups. Shared values were identified and defined in terms of behavioral standards. The result: defined shared values for the organization, created by the organization. Buy-in and commitment to important organizational values is increased when employees feel a personal connection to those values.
Coaching personal awareness
When faced with mounting frustrations at work and dissatisfaction from her employer in her performance, a long term employee used the Values Discovery Process to gain insight into her situation and her choices. Along with her coach, she identified the core values that she held around her role and responsibilities at work. Grounded in this awareness, she realized that her frustration was resulting from expecting others to live up to her values. This process helped her focus on how she was living her values and communicating her needs and expectations effectively to her co-workers.
